Katharine (she/her/any) is an interdisciplinary artist, maker, reader, and funny guy from New York City. Currently studying at Tufts University Katharine is in her fourth year in a five-year program earning her BA in Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies with a double minor in Africana Studies and Political Science, and a BFA in Studio Art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.

Katharine has spent her entire life around all kinds of art, thanks to the immensely talented family of musicians, performers, writers, and artists she has. Growing up, art was always ingrained in every pocket of life because the artists in her family were also lawyers, researchers, or advisors. This environment and care has granted her the care to explore the world around them.

Outside of her undergraduate program, she has studied theatre/performance at Atlantic Acting School in their summer intensive and nature photography with National Geographic/The Putney School during a week long workshop in Yellowstone National Park.

In the studio, Katharine’s work is guided by post-modernist practice and focuses on what’s not. Her photography reaches towards un-suspecting spaces or shared vulnerability with her subject. On stage, you can find her frequently performing in sharp, comedy roles and more recently, mothers (or tired sisters) have entered her rep. As a director and designer, though, Katharine’s work tends towards a Brechtian style; she is always interested in finding new ways to engage with Verfremdung. Katharine is also a firm believer and follower of the nine physical viewpoints, incorporating them within any and all areas of her creative practice.

The exact middle child of five siblings, Katharine is armed to the teeth with funny quips, insightful nuggets of wisdom, and great music taste.

In life, you can find them listening to old records, filling their phone storage with photos or videos, making cheese-plates while philosophizing with her dear friends, re-reading favorite books, receiving “Matisse Reports” (weekly photos of her dog back home), and consulting her oracle or tarot cards.
